Southern white admiral
Limenitis reducta

The Southern White Admiral, from the Nymphalidae family, has a wingspan of 45-50 mm. This butterfly occurs in southern and central Europe, including in the North of Portugal. It requires woodlands and forests edges (close to watercourses) as habitat, where π˜“π˜°π˜―π˜ͺ𝘀𝘦𝘳𝘒 plant species are also available as a food resource for the caterpillars. Moreover, habitat loss has been the main threat against π˜“. 𝘳𝘦π˜₯𝘢𝘀𝘡𝘒 across its distribution.
