The Southern White Admiral, from the Nymphalidae family, has a wingspan of 45-50 mm. This butterfly occurs in southern and central Europe, including in the North of Portugal. It requires woodlands and forests edges (close to watercourses) as habitat, where 𝘓𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘳𝘢 plant species are also available as a food resource for the caterpillars. Moreover, habitat loss has been the main threat against 𝘓. 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘢 across its distribution.
